Before buying a recumbent trike, it's certainly a good idea to try one out and talk to other people (even on-line) about their experiences with riding a recumbent trike.  The cost of a recumbent trike can range from a few hundred dollars to many thousands of dollars.

Purchasing a trike on-line

An alternative to buying a recumbent trike directly from a dealer is to buy a new or used trike on-line through ebay or craigslist.  Often you can find a barely-used trike at a good discount because the owner had a poor fit or just decided a trike wasn't right for them.

• ebay --- On ebay, just enter either "recumbent trike" or "recumbent tricycle" as your search term.  You can get more specific if you wish, but there won't be that many search results if you just keep the search pretty general.  You can follow this link directly for ebay items matching the "recumbent trike" search term.

• craiglist --- An advantage of craigslist over ebay is that the items are local so that you can see the item in person and you don't have to worry about shipping.  Of course, due to its local nature, there may not be many (if any) recumbent trikes available for sale.  If your'e looking on craigslist, be sure to check back often for new listings. 

• amazon --- You might be surprised by this one, but amazon.com actually has quite a few options for recumbent trike purchases as well as accessories.  Click this link for a list of best-selling items.
